Nokia has released a new travel app “LockMapper” for Lumia WP8 smartphones over WP Store. The app allows you to add your current location to the device lockscreen as the background, which updates every 30 minutes with latest info.
Features:
- You can chose from different map types, such as road or satelite view, change the zoom level, and display traffic.
- You can save multiple locations that can be pinned to maps, shared with other LockMapper users, opened up in your navigation app, or used to “lock” your map to that location.
- Updates occur roughly every 30 minutes, and there are multiple features to help conserve battery and data usage.
Note: The app is free, but requires $0.99 for satellite and traffic information support.
