Here updates Nokia's offline navigation Worldwide

| |
Nokia has updated their Here Maps worldwide with the latest corrections and additions to the road network.
To update your offline apps go to Settings, Swipe left for the Applications tab, click on Maps and then select Check for Updates.
When Nokia sells its handset division to Microsoft they will retain their Here maps division, but Microsoft will retain a license to continue to use the maps on Windows and Windows Phone.

To upgrade you will have to go in Settings> Applications> Maps and “check for updates”. Throughout the update process were downloaded more than 500MB of data
If you have a Nokia Lumia with HERE Maps or another manufacturer’s Windows Phone 8 device with the built-in (also HERE branded) Maps, you just need to tap the three dots (‘…’) at the bottom of the Maps app, hit download apps, then hit update current maps.

New features in the Latest update:

  • Hindi support for Maps in India.
  • More detail for Algeria, Benin, Georgia, Guinea, Mali, Nicaragua, Niger, Saint Helena and Togo.
  • House Numbers in Australia, New Zeland and seven European countries.
  • Extended woodland coverage in Europe.

Apparently there’s more but it will only be revealed on Monday. Hindi support for Maps in India is huge, and definitely appreciated.
