Nokia X to launch dates leaked

| |

From the early rumors to the specifications leaks, Nokia X aka, Normandy was the device which grabbed the attention of world. It will be the first phone made by the Finnish giant, Nokia. Today according to a report of The Wall Street Journal, Nokia is going to launch it on 24th Feb in MWC. The device it supposed to be a low end model and will be a happy marriage between the Nokia Asha and Nokia Lumia lineup. It's no surprise that the smartphone might launch without Google Play support, pretty similar to what we saw with Amazon's Kindle range. Instead it will feature services provided by Microsoft and Nokia. The device is rumored to cost around 10,000 INR or $160. Check below for specs of the device:

Rumored specs of Nokia X:

  • 4" WVGA display
  • 4 GB internal memory
  • Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor
  • 512 MB RAM
  • Dual SIM
  • 5 MP Camera

In terms of software, Nokia will obviously arm the phone with its exclusive apps like HERE Maps, Nokia Music along with other popular apps such as WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter. It would be interesting to see if Nokia has taken inspiration from Amazon who uses a stripped down Android version in its Kindle series devices. As of now, there is no clarity whether the Nokia X Normandy would be like any other average Android smartphone or the one with software customisations tailored by Nokia.
