App Social now available for Windows 8

As the acquisition of Nokia and Microsoft almost complete, we will see many of the Nokia apps coming to Windows 8.1 platform. Few days ago, Nokia brought their HERE navigation system to Windows 8.1 and now, Nokia released App Social for Windows 8.1 users. This is the initial release and for now it is available in few countries only. The app is already available for Windows Phone store. You can grab it from Here(Windows Phone).

For those who are not aware of the app, App Social(Formerly known as App Highlights) offers users to find great apps available on the Windows Market. It is exclusive to Nokia Lumia devices only. A user can create his own customized lists of apps and share them. You can also follow various other user. It is a great way of sharing apps with other users.

Now, coming to the UI of the new App Social for Windows 8.1, it is almost similar to normal Metro UI interface which we see in other apps. The UI is very simple to use and it is recommend to sign in using your Nokia Account to take full advantage of the app. The app has combined both the Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 stores so users can create different lists according to the OS they use. There is a option in right hand bottom corner to switch the app stores(Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8). You can see the top apps, top users and also manage your profile from the app.

Note: The app is only available in US, India, Australia, Canada, Ireland, NZ, SA and UK. If you are in other region then you can change location under PC Settings and download it.
