Yesterday we shared a tutorial on how to fix Lumia Spinning Gears problem. Well, here is another method to fix the spinning cogs and bricked Lumia problem using official Nokia Software Updater tool.
The Nokia Software Updater for Retail v4.1.0 allows you to flash your brick/dead Lumia smartphone with official firmware. This tool offers a simple SW update and flash method especially targeted for Nokia Care centers.
Here are the steps:
- Download the NSU retail v4.1. Install the suite to your PC (Windows 7 & 8 only).
- Simply plug in your Lumia to the PC, fire up the software suite and choose “My device doesn’t boot up.”
- Once the device connection screen shows up, press and hold the Power + Volume Down buttons simultaneously until the phone vibrates.
- The software will then detect your Lumia and prompt you to download and install recovery ROM of 1.2GB.
- After that you will go automatically to flashing process. Don not unplug your cable until all the process are finish.
- If everything goes with plan you should have a working Lumia smartphone.
Notes:
- Please charge your Lumia fully before flashing.
- Flashing with Nokia Software Updater will erase all data and applications on your devices.
- The flashing process may void your warranty.
